The Director of Music will be a member of the extended School Leadership and will be responsible for building and developing an ambitious music and performing arts programme. Charterhouse Lagos will offer ‘Music for All’ through the curriculum and music clubs and activities programme as well as an extensive representative and elite provision. We want to develop opportunities for instrumental tuition as well as a host of ensemble performance opportunities for students at all levels. Our curriculum will focus on singing to begin with along with recorders and / or ukeleles. To make an impact, we are looking at long-term development of the instrumental programme along with a shorter-term drumming programme. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to define the wider music curriculum within these broad guidelines that will take advantage of the world-class music and performance facilities that we are developing.

This position requires a dynamic and accomplished musician with a passion for teaching, a strong knowledge of music education, and the ability to inspire and motivate students. The Director of Music plays a vital role in promoting musical excellence, organizing performances, and enriching the school community through various musical activities.
